Celtic Ferret

Fresh from not being guests at the sadly Covid-cancelled Wellington Folk Festival, Celtic Ferret are relieved to be unlocked, loaded and primed to fire off some of the songs from their second album “A Few Miles Together” which they will launch at their home club of Titirangi.

They will bring some with them because they are really quite proud of it and you can buy it for $20 and start off your Christmas shopping!

Celtic Ferret are Jean Reid and Ian Bartlett whose repertoire is steeped in the folk tradition.

They paint evocative musical pictures of gruesome deaths, riots, crimes, love and loss, customs and characters all woven with earthy harmonies and thoughtful instrumentation – and a touch of humour! If only history had been taught this way at school!

They have been guests at numerous festivals and clubs around New Zealand and are happy to be at TFMC at last.

Whet your appetite for the gig and the album with some snippets on the launch page at:-

An evening of taking turns to share music and songs around the circle, joining in when you can, with harmonies on your instrument or voice. Participate or listen. The choice is yours.

We’re a totally informal, small friendly group of people who like to sing and play music. This is a good place for experienced musicians to meet up and enjoy playing together.

If you do not sing or play and would like to then here you’ll find encouragement. There is never any pressure and you may wish to visit a few times to get confidence or you may already be confident, it does not matter, no one will criticise, only support.
