This time it is really happening!
Feak is the meeting of two likeminded young folkies, Louise Evans and Laura Quin. On fiddle, guitar and vocals, they present their own distinctive blend of traditional folk and contemporary song. Louise admits to a misspent youth travelling to Cape Breton, Scotland and Sweden to pick up the tastiest of fiddle tunes and songs. Laura has trawled the festival circuit in NZ, performing and teaching, and has built up an impressive reputation as one of the country's best young folk accompanists and songwriter. Since moving to Auckland from opposite ends of the North Island, they have joined forces and now perform lively sets around the city, with a full year ahead.
An informal ‘Singaround’ - ‘Open Mic’ without a Mic - A smaller group of people meet to share their songs and music.
Metservice have issued an EXTREME WEATHER WARNING for this evening. Auckland is expected to have its lowest air pressure ever around midnight, and they're forecasting heavy rain & gale force winds.
So in the interests of our combined safety, we've reluctantly taken the decision to postpone our Theme Night this evening. Our apologies to those of you who have specially worked up your own material for presentation tonight, we will offer the theme again at some point in the future.
Now rescheduled to 27th September
