Hear the totally stunning sound of this Croatian Male Voice Choir.
Seven singers, all born in Croatia and living in Auckland. They sing acapella (unaccompanied) and harmonise in English, Italian and German. They cherish their Croatian vocal heritage and one of their aims is to promote the advancement of New Zealand culture based on the fine mosaic of multicultural diversity.
The choir was founded in Auckland in 1995 and has recorded two CDs, one of Croatian Christmas carols and the other of Croatian traditional songs. They performed in Canberra in 2004 and last year were invited to sing at the International Festival of Acapella Singing in Croatia.
We are very pleased to welcome them to Titirangi Folk Music Club and know you will be carried home on the wings of song after this outstanding evening.
Ok so we are too late for Waitangi day but lets celebrate New Zealand song anyway with a "Come All Ye" evening on a New Zealand theme.
If you know a couple of New Zealand songs, come along and sing them tonight. Whaling songs, songs of the Gold Rush, of early settlers, kauri gum diggers, sheep shearers. Songs of town and country, old songs and new songs - as long as they are songs of New Zealand we'd like to hear them.
No guest artist tonight - just lots of songs celebrating our country.
