The Fiddle Shop Band is a trio of exceptionally talented young musicians who play energetic, foot-stomping, hand-clapping Irish music. Bo (guitar/whistle/bodhran), Emily (fiddle) and Phil (mandolin, bouzouki) are not your standard diddledy-dee Irish band, however. Their unique arrangements and constant hankering to mix things up means that "standard" is not an adjective to apply to this band. They performed a one-hour concert at the 2007 Auckland Folk Festival in January 2007 and made such an impression that people still talk about their performance as one of the highlights of the festival weekend.
Their performance at the club's Christmas party club night is sure to be just as memorable. Expect brilliant music, plenty of tongue in cheek Celtic pop-fusion and lots of audience participation. Sure to be a wonderful end to the club year.
Note Early Start from 7PM -Happy Hour with wine and cheese.
Then our very own Fairy Triciabelle will once again play host at our Christmas Clubnight, introducing a first half of floor spots followed by our special guests.
The festivities will continue after the performances with our Christmas party and delicious Christmas pudding.
An informal ‘Singaround’ when a smaller group of people meet to share their songs and music.
