Time to gird your loins and dust off your sporting prowess to help our club win back the trophies for these 2 ancient and esteemed sporting competitions.
I'm told that at a recent Devonport clubnight, a Tiddley Winks table was set up in a corner. In the words of Flanders and Swann "they practice beforehand which spoils all the fun". We're sure the superior westie skills of our members will triumph and bring the cups back to Titirangi.
Apart from the tiddlywinks and phutball tournaments, lots of other pub games are available, like darts, dominoes, cards. A scrumptious supper will be served. It's a great social evening that's lots of fun.
Come and support your club and have a great time doing it!

Al Young is one of the best in New Zealand when it comes to picking the blues. And he's not too bad at country dobro, guitar and even a bit of mandolin.
But lately, he's gone back to one of his earliest instruments and it turns out he's one of the best around on the autoharp, too. Good enough, it seems, to inspire even Roger Giles to remark that "it shows what can be done with one of those in the hands of a master".
Come and see what happens when one of country music's most traditional instruments gets a chance to show what it can really do.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our or her control, the Kath Tait concert planned for this evening has had to be cancelled.
So We have taken the opportunity to use the night so ‘floor singers’ can have their share of the limelight. Unlike most ‘Club Nights’ both halves of the evening will be open to floor singers.
Following on from our successful humour Theme Night, "Titter at Titters", here's the opportunity for all the ‘traddies’ to strut their stuff. For those who don't usually do traditional songs or tunes here's a wonderful incentive to explore and present something from the rich wealth of material in the ‘Traditional’ genre.
Here's some guidelines to help you get into the spirit of the evening.
Remember too that because the theme is ‘Traditional’ and there will be more performance spots than usual there is a greater chance that two or more performers may choose to present the same piece. So you might want to consider having a couple of alternatives up the sleeve.
Don't forget that our library has a wealth of recorded Traditional material which our members can tap into. The Library is available every time we meet except on 'Concert Nights' so there will be opportunity before the 19th to borrow recordings.
So, please come along and support what will be a wonderful evening of music that has inspired people, often through many centuries.
An informal ‘Singaround’ when a smaller group of people meet to share their songs and music.
